it's been one of those days

If you know me then you probably know that I have a thing for crying pictures. I love them, always have. I like to keep my photography real. I don't do a lot of posing, even with babies. I just like to capture the moment. And you can't get much more "real" than crying. Of all the pictures hanging in my house my all time favorite has to be the one of my son, just 1 week old, screaming his head off. Babies cry and that's ok. For them, whatever is wrong seems like the worst thing in the entire world. Whenever I've had a rough day I look back at these pictures and they always make me giggle. Here are just a few of my favorites from the past year.

belly and a blessing

This shoot started out just like any other. It was just before sunset, beautiful light and a great location. However, it is one I will never forget. After quite a few interruptions, and some very interesting people, we ended up with some amazing photographs. And my mommy-to-be got a very sweet Hebrew blessing from a stranger.

Blue eyes and Big smiles

These two were full of personality. They gave me lots of giggles and some very intense "baby talk". They were both very interested in the camera, which gave me plenty of opportunities to catch those beautiful baby blues. The entire family made me feel very welcome. Over all it was a great shoot and I had a lot of fun.

Stephanie

I fell in LOVE with Stephanie's room the first time I saw it. It would have been my ideal room when I was her age. I also knew I really wanted to photograph her in it. Her mom was all for this idea because it meant she had to clean her room before the shoot! Stephanie is a very sweet girl and I tried to capture that in her pictures. We had a lot of fun and got some awesome shots. Here are just a few of the images from that day.

Abigail

Abigail decided to make her debut two weeks earlier than she was expected. In fact our photo shoot just happened to be on her original due date. She slept through the whole thing. I have been photographing Abigail since she was a belly and was very excited to meet her. So excited that I actually left my camera at home. Yes that's right....I showed up to a photo session without a camera. Even with our rocky start to the day we got some amazing shots (once I went and got my camera, of course). You will be seeing more of Abigail as I follow her through her first year.

Liam

Liam had a case of "mommyitis" the day of our shoot. He was a little unsure about the lady with the camera. However he did fantastic and we got some great shots. Here is just a sampling.

Noah

Meet Noah...the newest FSU fan. I started photographing Noah when he was still just a belly, a BIG belly. Now that he's here, (all 10 pounds of him) I get to follow him as he grows throughout his first year of life. Here are just a few of the pictures from his newborn session.

This last picture was actually taken at the hospital. Just one day old.
